

Oct. 3 Club Council Recap
The first Club Council meeting of the year happened last night. New club executives learned about how to promote and market their clubs, prep for club fair, and how to reach and recruit new members. They also had a great round table sharing tips with each other on planning events, networking with the wider community, and communication best practices.

Grad Student + Faculty Supervisor Agreements
A new document that provides a framework for grad students and supervisors to discuss and agree upon roles and expectations within the supervisory relationship was approved at the September 20th, 2021 Graduate Studies Advisory Committee meeting. Read more.

Club Fair Postponement + Covid Protocols
BC (and VIU) is now in stage 3 of the BC Restart Plan. If you are looking to plan an event for your club and aren’t certain it is within the guidelines, please contact me. VIU has put out a guide for campus activities and events which applies to clubs. Please make sure to follow this guide when you run club activities, and check it regularly as it is updated often.

Voting will take place electronically on October 19, 20, 21omination packages can be requested in the VIU Students' Union office (building 193 on the Nanaimo campus), or in student services in Cowichan or Powell River after the opening of nominations.
