services to support students

The Students’ Union offers services to our members that support our advocacy goals of making post-secondary more affordable and accessible for students at Vancouver Island University.

Bursaries, Awards + Grocery VouchersWe offer a variety of bursaries and endowment awards which can be applied for through your student record (deadline Oct 31 and Mar 31 each year). Thousands of dollars in grocery vouchers are also available at Financial Aid, funded by VIUSU each year.

Financial Resources

for Students

Annually, VIUSU provides significant financial support to students through bursaries, grocery cards, and endowment awards.

To access this bursary and scholarship funding, complete your online scholarship, award, and bursary profile within your student record (under the Finance tab). This will allow you to apply for upcoming awards. The deadlines to complete your profile are October 30th and March 30th. For more information, visit VIU Scholarships, Awards, and Bursaries.

For general financial aid questions or to find out about options for short-term emergency support, students can email financialaidinfo@viu.ca.
