VIUSU Hosts Spring Semester Consent Week

From February 13-17, VIUSU will be hosting their second ever Consent Week, a series of events centered around the theme of consent. With a focus on promoting healthy relationships, self-defense, and sexual education, the week promises to be both educational and entertaining.

The highlight of the week will be the Consent Fair happening on Tuesday, February 14, featuring community organizations and vendors who will be on-hand to educate attendees on all things related to consent. Workshops throughout the week will cover topics such as sexuality, consensual relationships, and self-defense.

In addition to the educational events, there will also be plenty of opportunities for fun and entertainment. This week finishes strong with Sex & Consent Trivia followed by a Drag Show hosted in the VIUSU Pub.

Sarah Mei Lyana, the VIU Women Students' Representative, had this to say about Consent Week: "Consent is not just a word, it's a choice. And at VIUSU, we believe in empowering our students to make informed choices when it comes to their sexuality and relationships."
