Please join VIUFA’s Status of Women Committee on Monday, February 14, from 12 pm-1:30 pm, to honour Indigenous Women and Girls for a campus-based Women’s Memorial March.

We are grateful to Naomi Bailey, Acting Manager of Indigenous Protocol at VIU and a member of VIUFA's Status of Women Committee, for her leadership to guide this event. We also thank Shq’apthut and Community Cousins for welcoming us to gather, and to VIUSU and other student organizers, along with speakers who will attend. We are honoured that Carol Frank, Aunt of Lisa Marie Young, will offer us some reflection.

Itinerary:
1) 11:45 am Meet at Shq’apthut
2) 12:00 pm Begin Campus Memorial Walk from Building 170/ Shq’apthut to 4th street, circling back via transit exchange.
3) 12:25 pm Return to Shq’apthut for speakers
4) 1:00 pm Coffee/ hot chocolate, snacks
