Supporting students over the holidays

In the spring of 2022, VIU, in partnership with the VIU Students’ Union, has signed on to the United Way’s Period Promise campaign, which raises awareness about the issue of period poverty and menstrual equity. Period poverty is defined as the lack of access to menstrual products due to financial limitations. VIU is the second post-secondary institution in BC to sign the Period Promise Policy Agreement, in which organizations commit to providing free, diverse and accessible menstrual products to employees, clients and community members.

With the winter break fast approaching, the Students’ Union recognized that many students may struggle to access these products while away from campus, so the VIUSU team will be putting together menstrual kits for students. These kits will be stocked with enough products to get you through an average cycle - sign up is required: https://forms.monday.com/forms/adf0bf87bf651528489299d649deda52?r=use1

Sign up deadline is Friday, December 9.
