Notice of Elections
VIU Students’ announce dates and details of the Spring 2024 Elections. These elections, provide an exclusive platform for students to embrace roles as leaders, team members, and catalysts for change within their student community. Nomination packages are available at the VIU Students’ Union Office (B193) from January 15, 2024. For more information email us at elections@viusu.ca

Director at Large (5 seats)
VIU GOVERNANCE POSITIONS:
Senate Representative (4 seats)
Board of Governors Representative (2 seats)
Student Representative to the Senate Standing Committee on Indigenous Commitments (2 seats)
Nominations Open: Monday, January 15 at 9:00am
Nominations Close: Monday, January 29 at 3.30pm
Campaigning Opens: Tuesday, February 13 at 9:00am
Campaigning Close: Monday, February 26 at 11:59pm (VIU Governance Candidates)
*Note: Candidates running for VIU Students’ Union positions may campaign through the voting period.
Voting: Electronically on February 27, 28 & 29
All students will receive a unique link to vote online via email. To seek nomination or find out more about the election or referendum, visit the VIUSU office in building 193 on Nanaimo campus or email elections@viusu.ca.
Students elected in the spring election will have terms of office from March 1, 2024 - April 31, 2025
