No More Stolen Sisters: Memorial March
On Friday February 14th, VIUSU and the greater Nanaimo community joined together led by VIUSU Indigenous Students’ Rep. Leah Vaisanen for a powerful and heartfelt gathering to honour the lives of missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls, and 2-Spirited peoples. Hundreds of people came together to march in solidarity with the families and communities impacted by this ongoing tragedy. Through impactful words, songs, and remembering, we gathered in solidarity to raise awareness, share our strength, and commit to the ongoing fight for justice and safety for Indigenous women, girls and 2-spirited individuals.
