Notice of Elections

The Students’ Union Spring election is just around the corner. Pick up an election package between January 16-January 30. Leadership skills are recommended but not required. Candidates will be selected by election with a vote of all VIU students on February 28, March 1 & 2.

Successful candidates will be mentored and supported in their development in the role and will have the opportunity to participate in many experiences that will connect them to other students on campus and throughout BC.

VIU STUDENTS' UNION POSITIONS:
Aboriginal Students' Representative
Chairperson
Director of Events
Director of External Relations
Director of Internal Relations
Women Students' Representative
Director at Large (5 seats)

Nominations: Thurs. Jan. 16 - Mon. Jan. 30
Campaigning:
Mon. Feb. 13 - Thurs. March 2
Voting:
Feb 28, March 1 & 2; online via election buddy

VIU GOVERNANCE POSITIONS:
Senate Representative (4 seats)
Board of Governors Representative (2 seats)
Student Representative to the Senate Standing Committee on Indigenous Commitments (2 seats)

Nominations: Thurs. Jan. 16 - Mon. Jan. 30
Campaigning: Mon. Feb. 13 - Tues. Feb. 28
Voting: Feb 28, March 1 & 2; online via election buddy

All students will receive a unique link to vote online via email on February 28. To seek nomination or find out more about the election, visit the VIUSU office in building 193 on Nanaimo campus or email elections@viusu.ca.

Students elected in the spring election will have terms of office from May 1, 2023 - April 30, 2024
